Pollinator Workshop for School Garden Educators

A school garden provides an opportunity where students can explore a dynamic learning environment. It provides a highly engaging classroom for students to explore all curriculum areas. This workshop will focus on all things pollinators.
  • Who are our pollinators
  • Designing and maintaining a 4-season native pollinator garden
  • Flower dissection and plant reproduction
  • Make and take: “Air Bee n Bee” bee hotel

The workshop will be led by Amy Bowman and Doug Vernon. Both are former teachers and current NC State Extension employees focusing on STEM Education as part of the Plants for Human Health Institute. They have been facilitating professional development for those utilizing the school garden since 2017.   • Registration is limited to 20.
  • Registration will close September 23.
  • Bring your own lunch.
  • Attendees will receive a School Garden t-shirt and other fun swag.
